A Prayer for Our Nation on Inauguration Day 1/20/17

A Prayer for Our Nation on Inauguration Day

Dear Lord,

I pray for You to please watch over Our Nation this Inauguration Day and every day thereafter for the next four years. You know that I don’t agree with President Trump’s policies and philosophy, but I ask that you help me to accept him and respect him despite my feelings.  I trust that you are in control and will guide us all according to our willingness to be led by you. I am obedient to You, O Lord, and will render to Ceasar what is his as Your Word instructs. Give him a willingness to unify our nation and to be led by Your Wisdom. Grant us all the willingness to be conciliatory and not argumentative. Guide all of us to peace in our nation and beyond. May we all trust You and your Lordship in full obedience to You, O Lord. I praise and thank You with a heart of gratitude. Bless Your Name, O Lord. Amen.

1000 Gifts: Trusting Grace 12/13/16

1000 Gifts: Trusting Grace  12/13/16

I’ll talk about 1000 Gifts: Trusting Grace in our Devotional study tonight. Trust is really an issue of mine since I was a child sexual abuse survivor. If you can’t trust your own parents, ho do you learn to trust. On 12/9/16, we learned from Ann that the answer to anxiety is the adoration of Christ. Such a profound but simple statement that is so incredibly true. Can it really be that simple…just adoration and exaltation will stop the anxiety we feel? That is what God’s word says many times over. Each time I am anxious, I will try exalting God beginning today. Continue during Christmas season to keep your list of One Thousand Gifts or graces and reap joy in your new discoveries for your list.  Let’s see what Ann has to say about Trusting Grace tonight.

1000 Gifts: Anti-anxiety Grace 12/9/16

1000 Gifts: Anti-anxiety Grace  12/9/16

Tonight, we’ll talk about 1000 Gifts: Anti-anxiety Grace in our Devotional study by Ann VoskampOn 12/6/16, we learned how God viewed the offering of bread to his disciples at the last supper as grace and even joy based upon the Greek translation of “eucharisteo.” If only that was how we all saw thankful giving to others as joy. During Christmas season may you continue to keep your list of One Thousand Gifts or graces and reap joy in your new discoveries for your list.  Let’s see what Ann has to say about Anti-anxiety Grace this night.
