Let Frivolous Things Go! 11/25/16

All of this I suppose is just a way to say to you that if what’s in your eyesight when you look up is what everyone else is doing or thinks you ought to be doing, clear the way, friend. Clear the paths around you, unmuddle the simplicity of the gospel. It is Christ who cares for you and cares for your provision, far more than you can ever care for it. So let the dead things drop, find out what they are and let them drop. Maybe Sayable is one of those dead things for you. Go ahead, unsubscribe. I won’t be offended, I promise.

A quote from   Sayable (http://sayable.net/2016/11/is-blogging-dead/)

Dear Lord,

Am I filling my time with things I need to let go? Do I need to cut these and spend more time with You and Your Word?

Of course, I do. I am still spending too much time in the world doing frivolous things that aren’t important.

I can hear You speaking to my heart now and giving me guidance about how to focus   more on You. I will do as You ask.

I love You and will follow You.

Mark 16:15 – Go Into All the World… 8/12/16

Mark 16:15 – Go Into All the World…

I have a Christian Friend, Sean McMahon, just out of college and going to Timor-Leste with the Peace Corps for two years. He has financial needs for equipment and survival there and has a GoFundMe account that you can donate to if you are willing and able. I donate each month. He and his sister are close friends of our family in Nashville TN. Sean’s sister and brother-in-law are both pastors in the Nazarene Church. Please check Sean out and give something if you are able. And if you are unable to help financially, will you please add him to your prayer list and pray for his ministry and his safety and that God’s will be done. I know God will bless you.

Thank you and God Bless,

Susan…

Prayer Journal Draft

Inspirational Scripture

For writing down a verse that stood out in my quiet time. If I write it down I find that I meditate on it more throughout my day

Prayers For Others

Where I write down needs of others such as healing, salvation, protection, a closer walk with God and so on.

Talks With God

Where I write down in conversational form whatever God brings to my mind to pray about.  This could be about events going on in my life, things I’m learning in bible study, or questions I have for God. It’s my time to sit down with my Heavenly Father and have a talk.

Lord Help Me/Confessional

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) After confession comes prayer for help not to walk in that sin again.

Thankful For

Time of praise. God gives us so many blessings and reveals so much of Himself to us through this world that it is only fitting to have a section to write down all that I am thankful for each day.

AMEN.
