Use the SOAP method to study a verse that speaks to you from each chapter.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NIV)

20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Just a note to all that have been following the Bible Study of Hebrews. Tonight is the final chapter and I want to thank you for your faithfulness as we learned about what was said and taught to the Hebrews and early Christians. There will be a break and then I will start a new study soon. Continue to watch for the announcement.  Susan…

BIBLE (Version NIV)

SCRIPTURE: (Write it out): Hebrews 13:20-21: 20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

OBSERVATION (What I learned): The final Chapter 13 of Hebrews gives reminders about living a pure and holy life. Verses 20 and 21 are a Benediction Prayer to those who are reading the letter to the Hebrews. First it says that God is a God of peace and that He created the new covenant with the blood of Jesus and brought Him back to life by the resurrection. The prayer says that the Lord Jesus is a great Shepherd to the sheep (His believers) and that he will equip you, the believer with all that is good to do His will so that we can work with Him in us to please Him. May Jesus Christ be the glory forever. Amen.

APPLICATION (to my life): I have learned that Jesus is alive and part of the Trinity of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I also know that the new covenant was the purpose for Jesus birth. He had a mission to fulfill so that once and final sin would be forgiven through Him and by Him, with Jesus serving as the mediator for me. His resurrection meant that I too would live forever through Christ as His follower. My purpose is to be more Christ-like daily.

Prayer (use scripture as a guide): Lord Jesus, Thank You for what You have taught me through Your words in Hebrews.  Thank You for providing the Holy Spirit to guide me.  I want to follow You all my life and be more like You every day. Thank You for showing me that You are holy, righteous, my protector, my comforter, my teacher and my God. I praise You for being there for me when I call upon you.  I praise  You for Your faithfulness and Your sacrifice. Thank You and Praise You.

Amen, Susan…
