Hebrews 4:15 (NIV)

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

BIBLE (Version NIV)

SCRIPTURE: (Write it out): For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin.

OBSERVATION (What I learned): This verse refers Jesus as our high priest and refers to him being able to empathize (understand how we feel) with our weakness. Jesus had been tempted in every way, just as we are, but he did not sin. (see  Matthew 4:1)

APPLICATION (to my life): I must set Jesus as my example how to be tested and tempted but not sin. Jesus is able to understand what I am going through when I am being tested, so I can turn to him for strength, protection, encouragement, and comfort

Prayer (use scripture as a guide): Lord Jesus, You are my High Priest. Thank you for showing me how you were tempted and tested and did not sin. Please help me to not sin when I am being tested. Thank you in advance for protecting me and understanding how I feel. Lord, help to guide me. Keep me studying your words in Hebrews. Direct my path away from sin. Praise you, Jesus.

Amen. Susan…
