Hebrews 1 (NIV)

God’s Final Word: His Son

In the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

On 12/31/15 Hebrews 1:3 spoke to me on 12/31/15

SCRIPTURE: Chapter 1:3 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”

OBSERVATION (What I learned): I learned that Jesus, the Son, was the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. That Jesus sustains all thing by his Word. That He provided purification for sins and then sat down at the right hand of God in heaven.

APPLICATION (to my life): What I’ve learned and can apply is that Jesus is the son of God and a model for me to follow since he represents God. By reading His Word daily, I sustain my relationship and understand God better. That Jesus sat at the right hand of God and I may also as I live a worthy life of servanthood and discipleship.

Prayer (use scripture as a guide): Jesus thank you for being a representative of God and for your powerful Words that you spoke. May I be an exact replica of you, Jesus and demonstrate your servanthood and discipleship. Please help me to stay true to these words on a daily basis. Amen. Susan…

Hebrews 2 (NIV)

Hebrews Chapter 2

18 “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”

SCRIPTURE: Chapter 2:18 “Because He himself suffered when He was tempted”, He is able to help those who are being tempted.”

OBSERVATION (What I learned): I learned that Jesus, the Son, suffered and was tempted/tested and because of this He can help me as I am tempted to sin and tested by Satan,

APPLICATION (to my life): Jesus is where I should turn to when I am being tested or tempted to sin. By reading His Word daily, my relationship and understanding will strengthen me to overcome temptation.

Prayer (use scripture as a guide): Jesus thank you that you suffered so that I could turn to you when I am suffering or tempted to sin. Please keep me strongly planted in Your Word to overcome my weaknesses. Amen. Susan…
