Tennessean’s Ode

I found my home in Tennessee.
Beautiful rolling hills and mountains
touching the heavens with their arms.

Warm sunny summers, springs like
rivers running through the Cumberland Gap
entice you to take your shoes off and wade.
Even the winters are mild with some snowfall
but nothing like those Northeastern states.

And autumn is a gift from heaven with
glowing rubies and topaz and amethyst
flowing from its mother’s branches to earth.
Such a subtle cool crispness to the clear air
filling lungs with freshness, breezes and life.

Yes, Tennessee is my home forever more.
