Rose

Rose

The blossom of a rose is delicate
causing other flowers to genuflect
in respect and love of her soul.

She slowly opens her bloom with
surprise to those who worship her.
The rose is most glorious indeed!

Many desire her precious presence.
Most don’t understand her beauty.
They take her for granted always.

Her thorns remind us that she
can’t trust those who approach.
The rose’s defense of soul and self.

The delightful rose shows herself
in an array of colors and hues;
yellows, whites, pinks, and reds.

As she blossoms fulfilling destiny
her womanhood is deeply revealed.
The rose is mature beyond her years.

Some whisper of rose’s captivity
in her rose garden, hemmed in thus
forbidden visits beyond the wall.

The caged rose needs protection
from transient worshipers that
might steal her wondrous beauty.

As summer fades into autumntime
and winter snows begin their arrival
in her garden, she slumbers waiting.

The rose rests watching for arrival
of springtime choruses of adoration
and desire for her beauty once again.

The rose shows her splendor anew
captivating her audience therewith
as her bloom gently opens once more.

Sunday Photo Fiction is a weekly writing challenge where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction using around 200 words. The piece doesn’t have to centre around exactly what the photo is, it can be just used as a basis for a story. This week’s photo is a rose bud.

God, Our Rock – Reflections-Day 34

Pause and Reflect…

In yesterday’s blog, I wrote that God heard my cry for help and healed my pain. The reasons are that I believe in Him, it is in His character, I respect and revere Him. My pain was back to my baseline pain level. Praise God because he rescued me when my feet (body or flesh) failed. But even if I was not healed and still in pain, I will yet praise Him. (Psalm 42:5).

As I continue Reflections until the end of September, I will do a 31 day “5 Minute Free Write” daily on October to a word prompt. I invite you to join me. It will only take 5 minutes of your day. For more information,  click here.

Let’s look at today’s verse and reflection…
