30 Day Attitude of Gratitude Challenge Day 5

First….

I was on All Poetry yesterday writing a poem. The poem was from two challenges. The first was in response to a prompt from All Poetry contest called  “Turning Away” to the song… “On the turning away” by Pink Floyd https://youtu.be/7UbMOkdG8AYand the second was a “Phrase Prompt” of ‘I Wish’ for A Prompt Each Day, WordPress.

The Quote…

The quote today is from the poem that I wrote a yesterday on All Poetry. Both the Pink Floyd Video and the I Wish prompt lead me to think of compassion and how it is needed in the world. Compassion is necessary for happiness and gratitude. You feel gratitude for your life when you see others suffering. Below my poem, I included the video for you to listen.

The quote I chose this evening is:

My Poem…

Dreams of “I Wish”

Dreams of “I wish” for love and compassion.
Dreams bring to fruition wishes and action.
Love and compassion within and without

lend themselves to soul-searching for all.

I wish for compassion to see others as self.
I dream of love for all within and without.
Can you see it? The world of involvement
where each has empowered compassion?

Dream with me and wish for power to act.
I dream of wish-fulfillment and patience as…
I wish for compassion and thoughtfulness.
Dream with me…wish for empowerment.

Become part of the call to commitment.
Throw your wind-swept caution aside.
Make your wish for compassion both
within and without a revolution now.

The Video Prompt

Now, for my gratitude list of 5 things I am grateful for this evening:

  1. My gifts of compassion given to me by my Higher Power whom I call God.
  2. My desire to see others through the eyes of my compassion.
  3. My wish to show others how to be compassionate and feel compassion
  4. I call to action for compassion with my ability to model compassion.
  5. The tools that help me to teach compassion to others.

I hope you enjoyed today’s quote and my gratitude list. Off to bed for me now since it is 11:45 pm in Nashville. I enjoy sharing about gratitude and look forward to sharing more tomorrow.

Until next blog,

Susan…

Sunday Photo Fiction – July 26th 2015

Sunday Photo Fiction is a weekly writing challenge where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction using around 200 words. The piece doesn’t have to centre around exactly what the photo is, it can be just used as a basis. For example, this week’s photo is the statue of a pilot at a Battle of Britain memorial in Capel le Ferne in the UK, but you can use it as the statue of some random passerby who did something miraculous and was immortalised in stone. Or even just as a description of something in the background

If you have the time, please read some of the other stories that have been written via the InLinkz page below. Remember though, the main thing is to have fun and enjoy what you are writing.
