30 Day Attitude of Gratitude Challenge Day 4

First…

I want to apologize for not blogging this late last night as I usually do. I was overtired and decided that you would not receive my best content if I wrote last night. Lately, I’ve been blogging between 12 MN and 3:00 am and it has taken a toll. I made the decision to change my time writing on this blog to mid-afternoon to late evening so that I can get to bed earlier. I hope this does not affect your needs…Susan

The Quote

The quote today is from a Google Search that I did for “gratitude quotes.”  I saw Oprah Winfrey’s quote about your gifts and your calling and it touched me, my inner soul. I started a conversation with my inner voice about whether this quote was appropriate for blogging about gratitude and I was advised that anything could be a gratitude quote. It all depends on the perspective…sounds familiar.

The quote I chose for today is:

“There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. Its why you were born. And how you become most truly alive.”
― Oprah Winfrey

Gratitude is…

Gratitude is relative to what gifts you have and receive in your life’s experiences. Life happens day after day and one of the practices that we can be grateful for is the gifts we receive daily. We need to focus on giving more than receiving so that we receive as a natural consequence of.giving to others.

Our Calling…

Our calling is a gift that we receive from our Higher Power or the Universe, which ever you chose to call the giver of our calling. As we listen to our inner voice and inner-self, we learn what our calling is. I have learned that your calling can change depending upon the circumstances. For example, my calling is one of teaching and inspiration, motivation. For part of my life, I used my gift with my children and my nursing career. In the present, I use my calling on my blogs to motivate, uplift, and educate. Still the same calling but used differently depending upon the circumstances.

Time allows you to focus more clearly on your calling and your gifts. Your calling becomes more refined and defined so that you use it naturally. You can try to change your calling but unless it is Godsent, you will not find fulfillment, Knowing your true calling and following it is your passion in life. So why not follow your passion, your calling and as Oprah says, “truly alive?”

Now, for my gratitude list of 5 things I am grateful for today:

  1. My gifts given to me by my Higher Power whom I call God.
  2. My calling to motivate, uplift and educate.
  3. My ability to be creative in the use of my gifts and my calling.
  4. I am grateful for finding my passion.
  5. The tools that help me to motivate, uplift and educate.

I hope you enjoyed today’s quote and my gratitude list. Off to bed for me now since it is 1:47 am in Nashville.I look forward to sharing more on gratitude tomorrow.

Until next blog,

Susan...
