 Damn Orchids!

“Are you laughing at me?“ he said, “I really am sorry that you think my apology is a laughing matter.”

Jenny turned to hide the tears. This was like a merry-go-round and she didn’t want another ride.

“We just keep hurting each other. It’s time to stop,” she explained.

Ron asked, “Is it over?”

“Leave! It’s over. I want a divorce. There’s more heartache than I signed up for.” Jenny stated coldly, “And take those damn orchids.”

“Who-o-o…?” he stuttered.

“Give them to your mother. She’s your first love,” she continued. “Momma does everything for her precious son! Doesn’t she?”

Ron sighed and turned to leave with his orchids. “Jenny was right. She never did measure up to his mother,” he thought.
