Beautiful Day at the Home

It was early morning on a beautiful late spring day.  Molly sat on the front porch drinking her coffee. She anxiously awaited the mailman. She expected a letter from Linda, her daughter, confirming her visit this weekend. Molly didn’t own a computer. No fancy gadgets for her. So, she waited.

The mailman arrived handing her the mail. There was the letter from Linda. She opened the letter. It read,

Dear Mom,
Hope all is well with you.
Just wanted to let you
know that I can’t visit
now. I’m so busy at work
and can’t take time off.
Hope you understand.
Bye, Linda

Molly wiped her eyes. Linda canceled again. There were things more precious than work. Molly left her on the porch and went into the facility. She didn’t understand kids today. You spend your life raising and giving them everything they wanted. It was not such a beautiful day at the home after all.
