Finish the story begins with: “Diamond Jack had his hideout next to the Rattle Snake River.”
BANG! Up Job!
“Diamond Jack had his hideout next to the Rattle Snake River.” He was an ornery fella…been drinkin’ nigh on 30 years. Wasna bout to stop now. Jack usta play poker ’til he got caught stashing diamonds and became known as “Diamond Jack.” Nobody would play with him now. “Buch of good for nothin’s,” he said. “Couldna take a joke.” Well, he’d show them.
Diamond Jack loaded his pistola. He rode horseback to the saloon and staggered in with his gun drawn. Jack was lookin’ for trouble and sure ’nuff found some. Two cowboys on bar stools stood up and asked, “Wha the hell ye doin’?”
Jack took a deep…breath…and staggered a bit…”Jus comes to gets me a drink.” he slurred, “Whas ur problem?” He lifted his gun and “BANG!”…
They buried Jack near Rattle Snake River. “Bang! up job.” Jack was dead and didna need that drink cause he was drunk ’nuff when he shot hisself.
